READING 1
Karolario and Romaline have been inseparable friends for over ten years. They have lived as next-door neighbors for most of their lives, sharing countless meals and memories. Karolario has often cooked for Romaline, and she has always enjoyed his delicious dishes. Together, they have experimented with various recipes and have learned to mix, bake, and grill all kinds of foods.
Recently, however, their lives have changed. Karolario has found a job abroad, and Romaline has also moved to a new country for her career. After a decade of living side by side, they have started living in separate houses, far away from each other. The change has been difficult, but they have remained close despite the distance.
Karolario has eaten at many new restaurants in his new city. He has tasted foods he had never tried before, from spicy and salty dishes to sweet and crunchy desserts. Romaline, on the other hand, has learned to cook for herself. She has chopped fresh ingredients, boiled pasta, and fried vegetables. She has even baked her own bread, which has risen perfectly in her oven, turning golden and crisp.
Both friends have discovered new flavors and foods since they have lived apart. Karolario has grilled meats on a new barbecue, and Romaline has mixed fresh salads with juicy fruits and crunchy nuts. They have also explored different cooking techniques, like fermenting and proofing dough, which they had never tried before.
Though they have missed each other, Karolario and Romaline have remained connected through their love of food. They have shared their experiences and recipes over long-distance calls, discussing the nutrients and calories in their meals, and how their metabolism has adjusted to the new foods. Their friendship has grown stronger, even though they have lived in different countries.
Karolario and Romaline have realized that, no matter where they live, their bond has remained unbreakable. They have continued to inspire each other, finding joy in cooking and eating, even when they are miles apart.

Romario HAS been driving for Uber for years. He HAS MET all kinds of people in the BUSY CITY where he works. One EARLY morning, he PICKED UP Caroline, who HAD RECENTLY become a police officer. They HAVE HAD many rides together and HAVE BECOME almost INSEPARABLE. Romario HAS ALWAYS FOUND Caroline to be KIND, but he HAS NOTICED something strange RECENTLY.
Caroline HAS BEEN acting OVERWHELMED and HAS even MISSED her usual ACTIVE routines. One day, she ASKED Romario to HEAD straight to a quiet ISLAND outside the CITY. She SAID she needed a break and PLANNED to GRILL some food. Romario AGREED, and they SET OFF for the ISLAND.
While they TRAVELED, Romario THOUGHT about his own life. He HAS ALWAYS wanted to start a BUSINESS, but he HAS NEVER FOUND the time. Seeing Caroline so DETERMINED to take a break made him think about his own HEALTH and how SALTY the stress of the CITY HAS BEEN.
When they REACHED the ISLAND, Caroline UNPACKED her INGREDIENTS. She EXPERIMENTED with different RECIPES, INCORPORATING juicy fruits and CRUNCHY vegetables. The food WAS GRILLED to perfection, with the right amount of SALT to make it just right. Caroline PREPARED a delicious and HEALTHY meal, and Romario NOTICED how RELAXED she HAS BECOME.
As they ate, Caroline CONFESSED that she HAS BEEN involved in something CROOKED at work. She HAS SAID that it HAS weighed on her mind and HAS AFFECTED her HEALTH. Romario LISTENED carefully and ENCOURAGED her to KEEP pushing forward and do the right thing. Caroline AGREED that she had tonmake a change.
After their meal, Romario DECIDED to HEAD back to the CITY. But this time, he had a new plan. He WAS ETERMINED to start that BUSINESS he has ALWAYS WANTED. Caroline THANKED him for his friendship, and they PARTED WAYS.
As Romario DROVE back, he THOUGHT about how MUCH that day HAS CHANGED him. He REALIZED that it HAS BEEN important to face the challenges HEAD-ON and not let them OVERWHELM him. With a smile on his face, he PLANNED his next move.
