Read and record.
MR. RIVER and MR. SILVA were old friends, but their married lives were very different. MR. RIVER always said, “My marriage is the BEST thing that happened to me.” MR. SILVA, on the other hand, often joked, “My marriage has more FLAWS than I can count.”
Last month, they went to a RESTAURANT to talk about their experiences. The food was NEW, and the service was fast. “This is the BEST meal I’ve had in a long time,” MR. RIVER said. MR. SILVA nodded, but added, “Yes, but the last time I came here, the food BLEW me away more.”
They continued to talk about their lives. MR. RIVER’S wife loved to travel. Last summer, they drove many miles across the country. “We drove over a hundred MILES in one day,” he said. MR. SILVA laughed, “I would need a lot of patience to do that. I think my wife would never agree!”
While they waited for their food, MR. RIVER shared how he and his wife worked together like a great CREW. “We always make plans for the weekend, and it helps us stay connected,” he explained. MR. SILVA replied, “My wife and I, we take things a bit slower. We only plan a FEW things each week, and sometimes we don’t even follow the plans!”
When the food arrived, MR. RIVER enjoyed every bite, saying, “This is the TASTIEST meal I’ve had in a while.” MR. SILVA smiled and added, “It’s BETTER than last time, but still, I think I’ve had BETTER food in smaller places.”
By the end of the meal, both friends agreed that even though their marriages were different, they were both happy. “Marriage is a long ROAD, but it’s worth every mile,” MR. RIVER said. MR. SILVA smiled and said, “I agree, my friend. No matter the FLAWS, we are both lucky men.”
