FLAVIA’S PAST

Building a CAREER and a MARRIAGE was not always EASY for me. I was a TEACHER for many years, and I RETIRED last YEAR. During my CAREER, I DIDN’T often go to a RESTAURANT with my HUSBAND. We DIDN’T have much time, so we made it a HABIT to eat at HOME. It was quite a REAL challenge to find TIME for our HOBBIES.

My HUSBAND and I also DIDN’T stay in HOTELS on vacations because it seemed REDUNDANT. We wanted a break from the fast life, so we went camping instead. We DIDN’T feel like we missed out, as we enjoyed the PEACE and quiet of NATURE. One time, we visited a place near a HOSPITAL, and it looked HORRIFIC in the dark! But we just liked it

On weekends, we DIDN’T rock climb or do any risky SPORTS, but I used to THINK about it. We enjoyed simple activities, like walking our pet RABBIT in “Do Carmo PARK“. People say it is BORING, but it was exactly what we NEEDED to HEAL from a busy week.

Reflecting on the past, I DON’T regret the choices we made. Even though there were HORROR stories from friends who DIDN’T do a good job at balancing WORK and MARRIAGE, we found our OWN way. Life DIDN’T always go as planned, but we took things one day at a time, and that made us STRONG.
