Politically Correct = no offense

Euphemism is a nice or polite word that we use instead of saying something that might sound mean, harsh, or too direct. For example, instead of saying someone is “old,” we can say they are “elderly” to be more respectful and kind. It helps us talk about things in a gentle way so we don’t hurt other people’s feelings.

Valentina wakes up early on Sunday morning. She feels happy because she will spend the day with her best friend, Ana Sophia. After breakfast, Valentina walks to Ana Sophia’s house. The two friends greet each other with big smiles, ready to have fun.

First, they play with their dolls and talk about school. After a while, they run around the backyard, laughing and chasing each other. They also jump on the trampoline and enjoy the fresh air. When they get tired, they sit down in the living room and watch their favorite cartoon on TV.

Later, Valentina and Ana Sophia decide to draw pictures of their favorite animals. Valentina draws a cat, while Ana Sophia draws a dog. They show their artwork to each other and laugh at the silly details. After spending hours together, they feel sleepy. They lay down on the couch to rest, and soon both of them fall asleep for a short nap.

By the end of the day, Valentina walks home, feeling happy after spending a wonderful Sunday with her best friend.
